Testing Programs & Services
gh Testing runs ISTA, ASTM, NMFC, and retailer-specific test programs for medical device, pharmaceutical, automotive, industrial, and consumer packaged goods manufacturers. From individual drop and compression tests to complete sequenced distribution cycles, programs are built around your distribution channel, your OEM or retailer requirement, and the documentation your supply chain demands. Two lab locations in Ohio and Arizona.
Transportation & Distribution Simulation
gh Testing runs ISTA 3A, 3B, 3E, 3F, 3K, 4AB, 2A, 2B, 2C, and the full ISTA 1-series for parcel, LTL, pallet, and complex distribution programs. ASTM D4169 at Assurance Levels I, II, and III across all 18 distribution cycles. NMFC Item 180 and 181 for LTL carrier certification programs. Test reports accepted for ISTA, NMFC, and retailer certification submissions. Programs built around your distribution channel, OEM requirement, or retailer specification.
Environmental & Thermal Conditioning
Temperature and humidity conditioning from −20°F to 140°F integrated with mechanical test sequences. Profiles include extreme cold, severe cold, cold/humid, controlled, hot/humid, elevated temperature, extreme heat dry, and user-defined cycles. Accelerated shelf life testing available for products with temperature-sensitive expiration or stability requirements. Both Ohio and Phoenix facilities run full conditioning programs — conditioning before a drop, vibration, or compression sequence reveals how corrugated structures, adhesives, seals, and cushioning materials actually perform in your distribution environment, not just in a laboratory default.
Corrugated & Materials Testing
Individual material qualification tests for corrugated board, cushioning, and packaging substrates. Edge crush test (ECT), box compression test (BCT), flat crush, Mullen burst, and caliper testing for board qualification and supplier validation. Used standalone for packaging design decisions and failure analysis, or as part of a complete distribution validation program when a test reveals a materials-level root cause. Results support packaging redesign, supplier qualification, and cost reduction programs.
Shock, Drop & Impact Testing
Drop testing, incline impact testing, and shock testing to ASTM methods as specified. Run standalone or sequenced within a complete distribution simulation program. Incline impact testing replicates horizontal dock-strike and handling events — a failure mode vertical drop testing alone does not replicate. Critical for heavy components, industrial parts, and bulk packaged products.
Amazon, Retailer & Carrier Certification
ISTA 6-Amazon SIOC and ISTA 6-Amazon Over Boxing for FBA and FBM sellers. ISTA 6-FedEx A and B for parcel carrier compliance. ISTA 6-Sam’s Club for club store programs. NMFC Item 180 and 181 for LTL carrier certification programs. Test reports accepted for retailer and carrier certification submissions.
